All of our plants are produced by us vegetatively from our own stock plants (i.e. no micro-propagating). We, therefore, have only have limited stocks available of any one variety available. To avoid disappointment please do order as soon as possible since we deal with orders on a first come, first served basis.
We target (and generally achieve) more than 80% availability of catalogue items throughout the year. For this reason we do not issue a periodic 'available' list. Nor do we run a 'waiting list' system. We obviously do have limited numbers of many more varieties available than appear in this catalogue so if you are after a particular plant please ask. We can only say 'Yes', 'No' or 'Not Yet'!
Our plants are not sent out until they are well established in their 7cm pots and have all been treated against vine weevil. We try to make sure that all of our labels are correct but if we have made a mistake, please let us know as soon as possible.
To keep the plants as healthy as possible we do not send them in very warm or very cold weather. We can, however, accept orders throughout the year and are happy to 'babysit' the plants for you until a good sending time comes round. For instance you may wish to order in December but postpone delivery until the spring growth starts. Just let us know at the time of ordering..
We cannot accept responsibility for plants deterioration after despatch due to improper cultivation or care such as potting-on at inappropriate times of the year. If you are not entirely satisfied with your plants when you receive them, please let us know immediately. (If you are delighted with your plants, that is always nice to hear as well!)
We are happy to send plants to a third party as indicated on our order form. When this is done an unpriced Delivery Note is included with the plants and, with prior arrangement, a Greeting Card can be included if intended as a gift. Please contact us for further details of this service.
We continue to battle with the photos; please take them as guidance only as we can not guarantee the shades to be exact, and the flowers are not to a particular scale.
Orders can be placed either on-line through the Shopping Cart or by sending to us a completed Order Form by post. (See links at the bottom of this page.)
The on-line ordering sends us an e-mail with your requirements when you Checkout and we will reply to you (via e-mail) once we have checked availability of your selection and attach an Invoice. Payment can then be made either by cheque or card. We can accept card payment details by post, 'phone or e-mail.
We can accept payment in GBP via Cheques, Postal Orders, or Cards
(Visa/Mastercard/Visa Electron/Maestro/Delta). In special circumstances
direct
transfer to our account and PayPal can also be arranged.
Cheques should be made out to Drointon Nurseries. We do not bank
cheques or
process card payments until the plants are despatched.
We offer two payment options:
Do not send payment with your order. We will
send you an invoice when
the plants are ready and despatch them when payment has been received.
Do send payment with your order, but please
name some acceptable
substitutes or write a do not exceed cheque. There can, however,
be a
delay before despatch if plants need to grow on, or in adverse
weather
conditions.
All plants are packed in specially made boxes that hold three, six or nine plants. It is more convenient, but not essential, if orders are also for a multiple of 3 plants. We always prefer to send plants potted-up to ensure they arrive in the best possible condition.
